2025 Season Information

IMPACT VOLLEYBALL CLUB

At IMPACT Volleyball we understand that volleyball is a fulfilling sport that allows players to work on their physical, athletic, and mental development for their game at both a personal and team level. At IMPACT Volleyball Club, our Club provides athletes with the expertise that will be helpful beyond the volleyball court. We are a Club that values the goals of our individual athletes. We have proudly created our reputation for evolving the most well-rounded, talented athletes who have respect, honour and leadership skills.

Our Club teams compete at the top level within Manitoba. We will teach our athletes not only the skills of the game but also the personal attributes of leadership, a strong work ethic, responsibility, discipline and commitment. IMPACT is a registered member of Volleyball Manitoba and Volleyball Canada.

How long is the Club volleyball season?

For the 2025 season, IMPACT practices and tournaments will begin in January through May. We will also take part in Provincials and Nationals in May.

How do Club tryouts work?

  • Athletes are permitted to try out for multiple clubs in any area of Manitoba, however, once an athlete formally commits to a club, that athlete may no longer attend tryouts or tryout clinics with other clubs.
  • IMPACT Volleyball Club requires all athletes must Pre-Register Online (<-Click the link) before attending IMPACT tryouts. Tryout fees are $30.00 for the 2025 season.
  • Coaches may record athlete statistics (height, reach, vertical jump, etc) at tryouts and take an athlete’s headshots to help coaches accurately identify athletes when making their decisions.

How often are practices?

IMPACT athletes will have three to four two-hour practices per week totalling six to 8 hours of practice time. Dry-land will also be incorporated into the club season.

How often and where are the games and tournaments?

  • Teams are seeded (ranked) after each tournament.
  • Teams can expect to play anywhere in the province of Manitoba.
  • Our 14u to 18u will be attending 5-7 tournaments along with Provincials and Nationals.
  • Tournaments are typically two full days on the weekend.
  • Provincials and Nationals typically take place over 3-4 days.
  • Provincials are played in Manitoba.
  • Best of The Rest Tournament (Alberta) for 15U-18UNew
  • Nationals will take place in Alberta for the 15U – 18U teams.
  • Nationals will take place in Manitoba/Ontario/New Brunswick for the 14U teams.

I play another sport, can I still play Club volleyball?

Our Club teams will be quite competitive and we want our athletes to be fully committed to their team from January – May.

IMPACT athletes are expected to attend all practices and team events and use time management skills to balance academics with playing a competitive sport.

Should an athlete have a conflicting schedule, they are to discuss it with their Head Coach immediately.

Does everyone on the team get the same amount of playing time?

It’s the Coach’s discretion to play whichever line-ups they choose.

For athletes that don’t have consistent attendance at practices then a coach reserves the right to scratch that athlete from the tournament/game roster until their attendance improves.

IMPACT Volleyball is driven and playing time is often driven by a player’s ability, attitude, and development.

What is expected from parents?

IMPACT Volleyball Club knows that parents play an important role in our Club and are seen as an addition to our program.

IMPACT Volleyball teams require parents to volunteer within the team. Parents are needed for:

  • Team Managers
  • Game Scorekeepers and Line Judges

When IMPACT athletes attend tournaments, we require our team to stay at the venue during the tournament day to encourage team bonding. IMPACT teams will set up a “potluck” and parents are encouraged to contribute. Athletes with food allergies must ensure the team is made aware of the allergen so it can be taken into consideration.

IMPACT Volleyball athletes strive for encouraging and supportive parents.
